Background and Accomplishments

As Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Clark County (Vancouver, WA), Ms. Vondriska prosecuted misdemeanor and felony cases, including initial case analysis and charging decisions, witness interviews, motions and briefing, case negotiation, trials, and appeals. Her criminal assignments included District Court, Juvenile, Intake, Docket, and the Domestic Violence Prosecution Center. Civil assignments included civil commitment hearings and truancy court. Ms. Vondriska was also assigned to develop a truancy program for the Juvenile Court, which was selected in 2007 by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation as a juvenile justice Model for Change program.

While working as a Litigation Associate for Morrison & Foerster LLP, Ms. Vondriska practiced in areas of complex litigation, product liability, criminal law and pro bono matters. She also served as a member of a trial team in a five-week international extradition proceeding in federal court.

In Sacramento, CA, Ms. Vondriska served as a Law Clerk to the Hon. Milton L. Schwartz, United States District Court.

Awards and Pro Bono Activities

While at the University of California, Davis, Ms. Vondriska was Managing Editor of the U.C. Davis Law Review. She was a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Awards in Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, and Real Property and was awarded Order of the Coif status by graduating in the top 5% of her class. As a summer International Trade Law intern for the United States International Trade Commission (Washington, D.C.) Ms. Vondriska assisted in the litigation of intellectual property rights in the Office of Unfair Import Investigations. She has been a speaker at the Washington State Truancy Conference and participated as a Volunteer Coordinator for the YMCA Youth and Government Mock Trial Program.

Education

Ms. Vondriska received her J.D. in 1993 from the University of California, Davis. She earned a B.A. degree in International Relations from the University of California, Davis in 1988.
