National Headquarters
In order to accommodate its continued growth, Wood & Bender purchased and renovated a 13,000 square foot space in Ventura, California which is the firm's national headquarters. This expansion was the logical next step in the firm's evolution into the nation's preeminent insurance policy enforcement practice.
"It would have been easy to simply lease new space," said David Wood, partner of Wood & Bender. "Instead, we wanted to make a statement to our clients and employees that we were committed to building out space that fits their needs today and into the future."
"We also wanted to demonstrate our commitment to support Ventura by purchasing and renovating a building that reflects the historic downtown architecture – which brings and keeps people downtown," added Dave Bender. "Our building, designed in the Mission Revival Style, fits in well with the 1920’s and 1930’s architecture that dominates downtown Ventura."
Wood & Bender upgraded the Ventura building to include significantly more windows and open spaces, ensuring all employees enjoy natural light. Workspaces are organized around a centralized core. Technology infrastructure is state-of-the-art and facilitates future upgrades.
"Wood & Bender has converted a very ordinary tilt-slab constructed building into a highly attractive building for the community, as well as functional and comfortable workspace for its employees," noted project architect Jim Armstrong, of JE Armstrong Architects, Inc.
"Leadership means rethinking traditional ideas about the legal profession, such as where to locate a law firm," concludes David Wood. "Our facilities are state-of-the-art, and we have enabled our attorneys and staff to create a balance between a rich and rewarding career and living in a highly attractive area of the country," adds Dave Bender.
